Lucky

We've never been big celebrators of St. Patrick's Day around here, mostly because Big Brother's birthday falls close to the holiday and tends to overshadow it. This year, however, we've decided to throw him a birthday party on the 17th, and all of a sudden, I seem to have four-leaf clovers on the brain! Playing around with stamps this morning, I made the happy discovery that a clover leaf is shaped just like a heart. So my thank you notes became lucky love notes instead.

Jim likes to remind the boys that we "don't believe in luck," and I suppose that's true. But playing around with green paint and clover leaves today, Big Brother and his art supplies by my side, provided a very happy moment for me. Here's hoping that you, too, will enjoy the blessings of the Irish!

p.s. I made my stamps from foam (the larger heart) and Speedball Speedy Carve (the little one), and used green Speedball stamping ink to print my cards, as well as the burlap gift bag. Stamped notecards are an easy, fast project with a really fun result. See detailed instructions here

  1. So sweet! Happy birthday to your (big) little one. I know the feeling of sitting down with your kids to share something you both love-- heaven!

    1. Thanks, Palak! It really was fun--and how encouraging that as they get older we can work side by side!
